1. Payment and Cancellation Policy
1.1 Payment Terms
All bookings with Mushroom Tours and Safari are subject to these Booking Terms and Conditions.
Once the itinerary and invoice have been agreed upon, payment must be made by bank wire transfer (T/T) to the official bank account of Mushroom Tours and Safari.
At present, Mushroom Tours and Safari does not accept credit card payments. Payments must therefore be completed by bank transfer or, where agreed in writing, by cash payment before the commencement of the safari.
1.2 Cancellation and Refund Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing and will only be effective upon receipt and acknowledgment by Mushroom Tours and Safari.
Failure to provide written notice and failure to appear for the scheduled safari (no-show) will result in 100% cancellation charges, and no refund or replacement safari will be provided.
If a booking has been paid in full or in part, the following cancellation charges will apply:

The client is responsible for informing Mushroom Tours and Safari as early as possible of any circumstances that may affect the booking.
2. Third-Party Services
2.1 Third-Party Changes, Cancellations, and Delays
Mushroom Tours and Safari works with airlines, hotels, lodges, national parks, marine transport operators, and other independent service providers.
In the event of cancellations, delays, overbookings, or changes by a third-party provider, we will make every reasonable effort to minimize disruption to your itinerary and costs. However, any additional expenses incurred as a result of such changes shall be the responsibility of the client.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Missed flight or transport connections
- Flight or ferry cancellations
- Delays
- Overbookings
- Changes in national park fees or government taxes
- Additional accommodation costs
- Client-requested itinerary changes after departure
We strongly recommend that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance to protect against such events.
2.2 Air and Marine Transport
Airline and marine transport services are governed by the applicable laws and international conventions of the respective carriers.
Mushroom Tours and Safari acts only as an intermediary when arranging such services and cannot be held responsible for:
- Flight or ferry cancellations
- Delays
- Schedule changes
- Overbookings
- Loss, damage, or delay of baggage
- Operational decisions made by the carrier
Any claims relating to air or marine transport must be directed to the relevant carrier.
3. Health and Safety
3.1 Client Responsibility
A safari involves travel in remote wilderness areas and carries inherent risks.
Mushroom Tours and Safari, its employees, and agents take all reasonable precautions to provide a safe safari experience. However, clients are responsible for their own safety and must comply with all instructions, safety regulations, warnings, and guidance provided by guides, drivers, park authorities, and accommodation staff.
Where necessary, we will assist in arranging first aid, medical attention, or emergency assistance. Any costs associated with medical treatment, evacuation, hospitalization, or related services are the responsibility of the client.
3.2 Assumption of Risk
The client acknowledges that injury, illness, disability, property damage, or death may occur during safari activities.
Mushroom Tours and Safari cannot eliminate all risks associated with wildlife viewing, walking safaris, boating activities, road travel, trekking, or other safari-related activities. The client accepts these risks voluntarily.
3.3 Travel and Medical Insurance
All clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel, medical, and personal accident insurance before traveling to Tanzania.
Insurance should include, but not be limited to:
- Trip cancellation
- Medical expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Repatriation
- Personal accident
- Loss or theft of baggage and personal belongings
- Travel delays and interruptions
Mushroom Tours and Safari accepts no liability for costs, losses, or damages that would normally be covered by travel insurance.
4. Force Majeure
“Force majeure” refers to events beyond the reasonable control of Mushroom Tours and Safari, including but not limited to:
- War or threat of war
- Civil unrest
- Terrorism
- Government restrictions
- Natural disasters
- Floods
- Fires
- Epidemics or pandemics
- Quarantine regulations
- Severe weather
- Transportation disruptions
- Any other unforeseeable event
In such circumstances, Mushroom Tours and Safari will make every reasonable effort to inform the client promptly and to modify the itinerary where possible.
The company shall not be liable for delays, changes, cancellations, or failure to perform its obligations due to force majeure events.
If services are cancelled or altered due to force majeure, any refund shall be at the sole discretion of Mushroom Tours and Safari, taking into account unrecoverable costs already incurred. Reasonable administrative and operational costs may be deducted from any refund.
In the event of civil unrest or security concerns, Mushroom Tours and Safari will determine, after assessing the situation, whether the safari can safely proceed. If the company determines that the safari can operate safely and the client chooses not to travel, the standard cancellation policy will apply.
5. Legal Jurisdiction
These Booking Terms and Conditions, together with any contract or agreement between Mushroom Tours and Safari and the client, shall be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Any dispute arising from the booking or the safari shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Republic of Tanzania.
6. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming a booking with Mushroom Tours and Safari, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Booking Terms and Conditions.
The client confirms that they are physically and mentally capable of participating in the safari activities booked and accepts responsibility for themselves and any minors traveling under their care.
The client assumes responsibility for any injury, illness, death, loss of personal property, or expenses arising from participation in safari activities, except where such loss or damage results directly from the proven negligence or willful misconduct of Mushroom Tours and Safari.
